LOTUS FLOW- VINYASA
Lotus flow yoga is a form of vinyasa. The aim of this yoga class is to align your practice with the chakra system. The class begins with the first chakra and begins to move up all the way through the 7 chakras of the body, which allows us to connect deeper with our subtle body and allow for a greater body awareness when completing our physical practice of asanas (postures).
The beginning of each class will start with a mantra or dharma talk, to create an intention to work through during our practice. Connecting the mind, body and spirit.
Lotus flow is a very holistic practice that allows for us to create balance within our body and mind. If you are showing up to a class because you feel deeply lethargic, then this class should make you feel energised. If you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed, the practice should help to support you to feel grounded and calmer.
Why yoga is good for your kids?
Introducing yoga to your children helps establish healthy habits at an early age.
Yoga can enhance your child’s strength, coordination and flexibility, while encouraging body awareness and self-esteem.
It can reduce your child’s anxiety and stress and promote a sense of calmness.
If they continue yoga as they grow older, your children will continue to reap the benefits, including improved:
In Kids yoga we combine movement, breath, voice and imagination. We engage the whole child and allow them to connect with mind, body and spirit.
We use a different approach in kids yoga. While kids still have their strong wild imagination we want to utilise this in their practice. We allow the student to use their body to become the poses through imagination and movement. The mediation aspect is connected while doing this to allow the children to connect with their wild nature of not wanting to remain still.
We use music through voice, instruments and soundtrack. The main focus during this practice is to have fun and become aware of our bodies while still exploring the ancient teachings of yoga in a fun and imaginative way!
